About TwiFi
In 2003, concerned citizens of Tremont recognized that affordable and POSSIBLE Internet access in their historical little neighborhood was lacking. They decided to self organize and create public free Internet access areas in public gathering places making use of wireless connectivity technology, called WiFi (Wireless Fidelity). Thus was born Tremont Wireless Neighborhood, or TwiFi for short.
TwiFi’s Mission:
- Connectivity: Provide Internet connectivity to Network users.
- Education: Hold workshops and teach math/physics with basic computer and networking skills.
- Support: Build and support efforts for not-for-profit communications networks in communities everywhere.
