Support TwiFi

How can you help TwiFi Further Its Mission?

Become a TwiFi Volunteer

Would you like to volunteer? We welcome new volunteers to further our growth and spread Wi-Fi wherever there is the desire for wireless Internet access. If you want to help make this happen, send an email to volunteer@twifineighbor.net.You can help educate and promote what we are doing within your community by sending emails, handing out fliers, putting up posters, contacting potential new Hot Spots, or even having gatherings at your home or local coffee shop. We’ll provide the content!

Become a TwiFi Affiliate

Do you have a building with a clear line of sight to an area which might enjoy wireless Internet access? You could become an affiliate! Share bandwidth with your community.

Do you have a place where people congregate or already have a WiFi location? TwiFi has plans for growing at a rapid rate and you can be part of it. We’re launching new locations for wireless Internet access, or “Hot Spots,” all the time. We’ll help you promote your location, provide free content, and even help you make $$$! Our technology model allows us to link multiple locations, creating a community where there is free communication, free access to local content, free select entertainment from the World Wide Web, and, of course, the freedom of wireless Internet access.

Donate to TwiFi

TwiFi is always happy to receive contributions, whether they be in the form of another node owner, enlisting help with certain programming projects, or even as a donation!

Help TwiFi! At this time we need equipment for testing, replacement parts, and deployment. If you can help, please email info@twifineighbor.net.

Who Should Donate?

Equipment Manufacturers and Resellers
We will be developing documentation that explains to individuals and businesses how to setup open-access WiFi hotspots. If you provide equipment that is suitable for such an application, we may want to include it in instructions.
Wireless Access Companies
Our project can bring significant benefit to commercial WiFi providers. The hotspots we deploy add value to your network. Our hotspots provide access–and therefore benefit–to your customers when they roam off your network. Our hotspots make it easy and desirable for people to jump into wireless technology. These are the people who are going to be your future customers.
Technology Companies
Our Gated APs run on used PCs. Rather than discarding or recycling your used Pentium-class PC, please consider donating it to our project. What We Need Access Points - Low-cost consumer-style devices are desired. WiFi Adapters - We need 802.11b WiFi adapters, primarily PCMCIA notebook adapters. PCs - We need Pentium-class PCs with at least 32MB RAM (more is better), 500MB hard drive (bigger is better), and ideally 2 NICs. These will be used for testing and actual deployment in public hotspots. Miscellaneous - Power strips, ethernet cable, cross-over cables, and plastic table stands to hold our literature (http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=735910), and lamination kits to make door and window signs.
The Volunteers
We depend upon our volunteers in every aspect of our mission and operation. We are grateful for their dedication to our mission and in exchange we hope that we provide them with invaluable experience with one of the most exciting new technologies in our time: 802.11 wireless. Further, we can’t describe how rewarding it is to install a new hotspot and see the smile on the faces of the proprietors and their customers. It’s community service at its best, because not only does it enable us to make Cleveland and especially Tremont “less wired,” it turns strangers into friends, builds new relationships with local businesses, strengthens ties between businesses and the community, and improves the quality of life in Northeast Ohio.
