HackNite at Jefferson
TwiFi’s first TechnoGeekMeet hack nite had a not unexpected modest turnout. It takes time for these community building efforts to take hold. But we got a good start with Des S, Keyhole(Dewayne), and MikeO tapping away on laptops at TwiFi member Jefferson Branch CPL.

After introductions and some discussion about when to meet again, the problem of the evening was figuring out how to update the compact flash on the nodes we use (will be using) for the Lincoln Park Mesh Project. Here we see MikeO pointing to something important inside one of our node boxes.
Meanwhile, Civ barista and CSU student, JasonZ was trying to figure out why the hell the Linux (kubuntu) box SteveG built wasn’t doing what we needed it to do.

We didn’t get to flash the CF, but the discussion around it sparked something for me and SteveG was able to do a more precise Google search and found a script hidden on the vendor’s site to do a full update of Pyramid, the node OS. SUCCESS and now to complete the project.
